3 real-world ways customers are using Pendo AI

Creativity is your only limit with Pendo AI. Get inspired by your peers.

Different AI-powered products launch every week, and it’s easy to become skeptical about the real impact of technology. What’s more, too many AI/ML tools rely on smoke and mirrors to back their claims — so you lose time (and confidence) along the way.

But truly valuable AI/ML tools do exist, and they can help product managers (PMs) step into a new realm of creativity. Less busywork. Fewer errors. More time for your customers. Smarter decisions all-around. That’s what we aim to do with Pendo AI, and our customers are already showing us wildly creative ways to do just this.

Three ways you can start using Pendo AI

If you didn’t hear the news, Pendo AI just got even better with the acquisition of Zelta AI: An intelligent feedback hub that helps you enhance customer intelligence and product with data from over 150+ sources.

While we’re excited about what this can do for customers, we’re also looking back at the good things already happening in Pendo AI. Let’s look at three real-life ways your team can use these tools, inspired by our customers.

1. Run lean product discovery and customer intelligence programs

Customer feedback is your most valuable source of inspiration. But too much feedback can quickly devolve into chaos: Instead of guiding you towards valuable investments, you end up more turned around. Getting bigger shouldn’t prevent you from listening to your users.

That’s why ESO’s Director of UX, Marie-Therese (MT) McCann, uses Pendo Listen and Pendo AI. AI-powered Summaries, Idea Suggestions, and Data Standardization give her the tools to run a more efficient user feedback program, eliminate triage, and give PMs more time to spend with customers.

“Our product teams are working on being more integrated, so the ability to see suggested feedback that links is really really useful. AI can do that really well because it’s looking across all the thousands of pieces of feedback, something that would take a human, weeks, months, years to do.”

– MT McCann, Director of UX, ESO

And Pendo customers are simplifying discovery outside of just feedback.

With AI-powered Suggested Replays, Pendo users can analyze valuable visual data within Pendo Session Replay. Users now feature generative insights, based on data related to trending usage and rage clicks, with suggestions to watch important replays just one click away.

2. Ideate, create, and translate In-app Guides

Planning and writing in-app messaging is a major challenge for product, customer support, and marketing teams—especially for international audiences. Getting started with in-app guidance is the hardest part, and Pendo AI is here to give you a push in the right direction.

With Pendo AI, customers are planning, generating, and translating In-app Guides with a few simple clicks. Here are some ways customers are using these tools:

  • Turning product documentation into in-app messaging. PMs are sharing in-app updates by pasting in detailed product content, and letting AI turn this into effective content.
  • Creating content for employee-facing use cases. Building a quote in Salesforce or changing a password in Workday can be daunting and time-consuming. Ask Pendo AI Guide Creation what workflows employees need to learn, we’ll give you a starting point.
  • Translating messaging into 79 languages. Translating content involves expensive, time-consuming localization agencies, slow translation tools, or in-market teams. To speed this up, customers use Pendo AI to uncover potential friction, auto-generate guides in their local language, and let AI translate the content in-app.

Nelnet’s Manager of Design and Analytics, Liz Feller, took their product global and reduced guide translation time by 80% with Pendo AI.

“AI localization saves us SO much time. Before, it would take us 10 minutes per 1-step guide. Pendo AI helped us translate content in 2 minutes or less. Plus, we don’t need additional programs to use and save .xliff files, so more PMs can translate.”

– Liz Feller, Manager of Design and Analytics, Nelnet

3. Find insights in unexpected places

Good analysis takes time, and humans are habitual. It can be hard to break out of the standard way of thinking—especially when you’ve done something for a long time. But with great AI, you can speed up product usage analysis and reveal insights in unusual places.

We added two major features to Pendo Analytics this year to give product-led growth (PLG) teams all of the tools they need to supercharge growth: Identity management, and workflow suggestions within Journeys.

“These tools are a cheat code for growth teams. We used Identity Management to understand what turns anonymous visitors into customers, and used AI-powered Workflow Suggestions to improve the user journey.”

– Maxwell Troop, Director of Growth Product Management, Pendo

These AI-powered insights aren’t just for users interested in PLG. Pendo customers are also using workflow suggestions to uncover points of friction in internal workflows, from change management to improving compliance. From employee adoption to product registrations, insights are a core component of Pendo AI.
